minimalist gothic blues / folk. This album has a very raw and depressing tone which is heavily influenced by the "Necro" sound production of early Blackmetal artists such as Burzum and Dark Throne. In addition to subliminal roots in TRUE Blackmetal Howlin' Ghost also draws inspiration from early blues players such as Blind Willie Johnson, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Johnny Farmer, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Son House and Robert Johnson to name a few. The message behind this album is depression. It attempts to capture that internal fight in sound. A sound of limited guitar and singing skills fighting for air in a sea of glitz and glamour which; like water, is impossible to grip. Desparation, depression and damnation.
